Renato Anesi was born in 1969 in Rio de Janeiro. His work is the result of intense musical experience as a child. His father, a guitarist and cavaco player, was his first teacher. Renato grew up playing choros and sambas of Noel Rosa, Pixinguinha, Jacob do Bandolim and others.

Renato Anesi belongs to the young rock and jazz generation of contemporary Brazil, however, his musical roots integrate the tradition of many different styles of Brazilian instrumental music - choro, waltz, baião, frevo, maracatu, etc.

With this material he has built a unique style, featuring a music universe committed only with creativity.

Founder and leader of the “Corda Coral” Trio, Anesi became one of the key names in Brazilian Contemporary Instrumental Music , with accolades from the most demanding critics.

His discography began in 1996 with the album “Corda Coral”; In 1999 he recorded “Sin Querer” in Belgium with Spanish guitar player José Luiz Monton. At that time he toured Europe with “Rosa dos Tempos”. He recorded “Dez Anos Depois” (Ten Years Later) in 2006.

In 2001 he received the award “Rumos e Tendências Musicais” from the Itaú Cultural Institute, and in 2004 the Award for Instrumental Music at the Syngenta National Festival. In 2007 he received another awardat the Guarulhos Instrumental Music Festival. In 2009, the 59 Strings Project was launched. His U.S.A. debut was at the 2010 Chicago Guitar Festival.

Since then Renato has been performing in several Venues and Festivals in US, such as Old Town School of Folk Music, Chicago Cultural Center, Jazz Showcase, Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival , Mayne Stage, City Winery Chicago and many others.
